Outside Cleaning Services

This email just in from Paul Collopy of Clean Rite Cork, for the attention of all Pembroke Wood residents:

Dear Sir or Madam

I would like to advise you of the professional services we are offering, which are as follows: -

  • Window Cleaning
  • Facia and Soffit cleaning
  • Power Washing
  • Gutter Cleaning
  • Sign Cleaning

All our window, facia and soffit cleaning is done with state of the art water-fed pole systems, thus reducing the need for ladders and improving access to awkward windows etc.  The system is environmentally friendly, with 100% pure water absorbing dirt to clean windows, frames, cladding and signs, without the need for chemicals or detergents, and, because there are no detergents required, the windows do not get dirty so quickly – your windows will stay cleaner for longer!

All our services are provided in a professional manner and on a regular basis.

We are fully insured and VAT registered.

Please feel free to contact me regarding your needs.  I would welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you may have and provide a competitive quote for any work you may require to be done.

Kind regards

Paul Collopy

Please Slow Down!

We have received a number of requests from residents that people slow down while driving through the estate. We are investigating the possibility of having the developer install speed ramps, but in the meantime, please drive slowly through the estate!

If anyone sees dangerous driving, they should report it to the Garda Traffic Corps: 1890 205 805.

Thanks!

Garda Station, Passage West

Sarah spoke to the Gardaí at Passage West and they asked her to pass on this information on their opening hours:

  • The station is now open on Sundays from 6pm – 9pm. This is in addition to threir usual hours of 9am – 1pm Mon – Fri.
  • There is often a garda in the station in the afternoons, so even if it looks closed, just knock and if they’re there, they’ll be happy to help.

Message to residents of apartments

This message in from Patricia Hickey in Pembroke Grove:

Hi,
This message is principally for the apartment residents – i.e.
Pembroke Grove and Pembroke Avenue.  Perhaps you have noticed that
there has been considerably less “kids” activity in the car park/
courtyard area at the back of your apartments.  This is due (we
think) to the fact that a few (three) of us in the Grove have decided
to actually approach the kids and ask them kindly to move on – citing
damage to cars or houses and the disturbed sleeping of babies as a
reason that football/ skateboarding/ playing ghetto blasters is not
on.  The kids, for the most part, have been polite in their
compliance.  There has been the odd grumble but by and large they
have been okay.  This we feel is due to a couple of things.

1)  In all instances, one of us has actually gone down to ground level (rather than shouting down from the balconies).

2) We have always said things like “Sorry, lads, you can’t play football hereanymore..” (in a very calm and polite tone)

3)When we’re here we don’t let them settle.. at the first bounce of a ball we show up.

Now it would be a great help if more people did the same. It’s not
fair to expect kids not to play in the area if we residents don’t
point out that it’s not a play area.  Us three who have been doing
this are not always here and I think it is necessary for the kids to
get consistent messages from all residents until the word gets out
that this is a ‘no go’ area.  When this message is finally accepted
we might all feel more comfortable using the space for what was
intended – a car park and hopefully enjoy peaceful summer evenings on
our balconies.

Patricia Hickey.
